ANGLIAN CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR

"40 Art Galleries bring contemporary paintings, drawings, sculpture, original prints and studio ceramics by famous and upcoming artists, contrasting with the timber framed barns built for the Knights Templar in the 13th Century!"

Although the event seemed to be poorly advertised and attendance figures were low, we managed to sell five separate original works of art and a print. Many of the other exhibitors failed to sell at all and those that did only sold one or two pieces each, so we are very proud of our achievements and especially proud of our Artists! Thank you to all the Ovenden Contemporary Artists who attended the Fair over the course of the weekend, especially Geetha, who visited several times to help out.

The Barns were built by the Knights Templar in the thirteenth Century, to house the estate’s stocks of Barley and Wheat. The Knights’ manor house was sacked during the Peasants’ Revolt of 1381. Now the two barns remain, along with a fine Tudor Walled Garden and an 18th Century Farmhouse.
